I'm not sure what all the complaining is about

We received this label printer with our Dell/UPS workstation. We've had it for about six months, use it daily, and it just works away. I don't have to think about it, which to me means its doing its job perfectly. The Dell we're using was built specifically for UPS shipping, so that's probably why we haven't had any USB or driver issues. YMMV.

Refurb printer is great!

I saved gobs of money on this refurb-they are always a bit of a craps shoot, but I came out on top. Printer looks in perfect shape, all cords were present. I had a brief fight with installation on my Windows 7 64 bit system but that is a known problem with this model and was solved by the Seagull Scientific drivers (save yourself a couple hours snd just start with them instesd of the UPS/Zebra drivers). Printer works perfectly. Thanks very much!

Quirky: Poor support and only works with XP

I have to admit that the ZP500 prints alot faster than the 2844. It can print multiple labels in fast succession.

However, I got this printer to replace the 2844, but my computer has Windows 7 and there's no driver support for Windows 7. I called FedEx and Zebra and neither would offer support or updates.

Everytime the printer is turned on or there's a power outage, the thing spits out four blank labels. Not one, not two, but FOUR. I consider that annoying and wasteful.

So, considering the fact that I can't use it with Windows 7, it won't network, and it spits out a ton of blank labels, I rate it two stars.
