The ink and heads are junk

I had my printer for about 5 months before the first head started going bad, and I'd only really used it for 2 months on photo printing. It took several deep cleanings and a lot of wasted ink before it started working again. The next time I started printing photos it went bad again and no amount of deep cleanings would fix it. I was just within my warranty, so Dell sent me a new printer head. I installed it and it worked fine, for a few months. Then it started having the same issue it had with the first head. This time, no deep cleanings worked.

I've found the ink itself is gummy. I used Dell ink bought directly from Dell. The printer frequently printed on the roller rather than picking up a sheet like it was supposed to if I didn't sit in front of it to watch it print EVERY SINGLE SHEET and make sure it didn't stop in the back. Then the next sheet to come out would have rubbery lumps of old ink on it, which would rub off and leave white spots on my photos because they stuck to the paper while printing. UGH!

Moral of the story, I gave up and bought an HP Photosmart Premium. This printer is WONDERFUL! The image quality is SOOO much better, and I've only had one issue with a bad yellow cartridge. Plus, the ink lasts longer because I got the style with separate cartridges for each color, and an extra cartridge for Photo Black in addition to normal black.

Don't bother replacing this part. The printer costs just a little more than the worthless head itself and will go bad again. TOTAL waste of money. Buy an HP or Epson.

Dell Print Head

I purchased a Dell Print head for my expensive V715W printer. The company thru Amazon was great. They tried 2 different deliveries and neither worked, because Dell had a software block installed for 2nd party replacement parts (in this case, $50 more for the genuine Dell replacement).

The company providing the replacement parts - totally high quality and service oriented. I would definitely work with them again.

Dell - lost a family of customers FOR LIFE!! Don't buy Dell products, they are junk.

don't do it!

This product is not what your looking for. Not original Dell product. Quit working 3 months after installation. Just take the hit and buy a new printer now, before you waste the money on a printer that is inevitably dumpster bound!
