Excellent value. Did not experience any duplexer problems

I rarely write a review for products purchased on Amazon, but wanted to be the "tie-breaker" for the previous reviews.

I ordered this drum unit before the existing Brother unit needed replacement, just in case I experienced problems with duplexing. For the relatively modest price of this OEM unit, I was willing to experiment because I could always go back to the original, if necessary. I am happy to say that I have had no problems of any kind with this unit. The print quality is indistinguishable.

For the record, I print documents on both sides, exclusively. It is one of the features that lead me to the Brother HL 2270DW printer. The Brother laser architecture separates the toner cartridge from the drum unit, creating two different types of consumables. In contrast, the Samsung ML-2510 laser integrates the electrostatic drum in the toner cartridge. The high capacity TN-450 Toner cartridge purports to have a 2,000 page capacity. The DR-420 drum has a much longer cycle, approximately 15,000 pages. For instance, on my original HL-2270DW I have now printed approximately 30,000 pages replacing the Drum Unit once, i.e. for a total of 2, the original and the replacement.

I have had one duplexing problem with my second unit shortly after purchase, using the Brother Drum Unit. The troubleshooting instructions described how to clean the pickup roller and this solved the problem.

I now have two of these printers so I have already gone through numerous toner cartridges. I highly recommend the TonerRefillKits toner refill kit. They even have a kit to convert the pitiful "starter cartridge" (good for only a couple of hundred pages) to a High Capacity cartridge. That said, I am also trying out the low-cost toner cartridge from Amazon.

Can't print duplex without jamming every page

I have never really written a bad review for a product - most things work well enough given what I pay for them. This one, however, does not. I realize it's a "compatible" product, and not Brother-brand, but it should still work. I can print single sided material just fine, but it will not print double-sided/duplex pages without jamming on almost every single page. given that I like to print duplex to save paper, this is a big deal for me.
I will not be reordering this product. I hate to pay for brand name products because my budget is very limited, but I would spend the difference in paper I would use only printing single-sided.

Utter Garbage!!

Bought this drum unit to replace one that has been in service for about 3 years and should be replaced. The origninal drum was still working well enough but had reset the drum counter a couple times. After installing this drum the pages printed with ghost images and the entire sheet was gray with toner. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this product.
